Joe will be speaking on a panel on April 9 at the Indian Gaming Association’s Indian Gaming Tradeshow and Convention in Anaheim, CA.
The panel will discuss the Department of the Interior’s new proposed regulations for class III gaming compacts. The session will explore how the regulations aim to create consistency in approval processes and provide clear guidance on negotiation subjects, including online sports betting. The speakers will examine the historical challenges faced by tribes in compact negotiations due to states’ uneven bargaining power and how these regulations intend to align more closely with the original intentions of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) of 1988.
