Rachel Marie Yost is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Ms. Yost received her Juris Doctor with an American Indian Law Certificate from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law (OU Law) in May 2024, and joined Hobbs Straus as an associate attorney in September 2024.
During her time at OU Law, Rachel served as Managing Editor for the American Indian Law Review (AILR) and was published in AILR’s Volume 48-1 for her Note, “The Indian Child Welfare Act, Political Classification of ‘Indians,’ and Preservation of Tribal Sovereignty: Children, the Most Precious Resource.” Additionally, she was actively involved with OU Law’s First Generation Law Student Association, Native American Law Student Association (NALSA), Organization for the Advancement of Women in Law (OAWL), and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International (PAD). Through her work with Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, Inc. (OILS) and OU Law’s American Indian Estates Clinic, Rachel built her knowledge in Indian estate planning and probate.
Prior to attending OU Law, Ms. Yost obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Political Science. In her free time, Rachel enjoys beading, cooking, fishing, hunting, reading, and spending time with her dogs, Kimiko and Lady.
