John L. Killingbeck

Associate Attorney

John Killingbeck joined Hobbs Straus in May 2025 as an associate attorney. Though still a central Illinoisan at heart, he moved to Washington, DC post-graduation to pursue a legal career to serve the public interest. He received his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School where he served as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board and Articles Editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal.

Following law school, John joined another firm in Washington, DC where he practiced federal Indian law. At that firm, he worked on trust acquisitions and tribal gaming matters, gaining a deep appreciation for tribal sovereignty, economic development, and self-determination.

Outside of the office, John enjoys traveling, playing Pokémon Go, and singing/listening to music.
