Elizabeth Bailey

Government Relations Advisor

Elizabeth joined Hobbs Straus as a Government Relations Advisor in June 2023. Her portfolio focuses on Tribal health and includes housing, public safety, and other related issues.

Elizabeth has expertise working within the federal legislative process to advance Tribal priorities. She began working with Tribal Nations in graduate school at the National Indian Education Association, where she facilitated federal, state, and local legislative efforts impacting Native education.

Today, Elizabeth assists with reporting on legislative and administrative updates, drafting congressional testimony and talking points, and advising on the current political climate for issues in her portfolio. She also has extensive knowledge of the federal budget and appropriations process and how it impacts Indian Country.

Elizabeth is greatly honored to work for Tribal Nations to advance Tribal legislative priorities. She is passionate about expanding self-determination and ensuring congressional and administrative partners understand their trust and treaty obligations to Tribal Nations.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of California – Berkeley in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a minor in French. In 2023, she earned a Master of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University. She was also named a Fulbright Finalist for Research-Study in Canada.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys running, cooking, and listening to Taylor Swift. A former collegiate swimmer, she also dreams of completing an Iron Man triathlon one day.
