Professional Profile

Adrianne E. Elliott

Associate Attorney

Adrianne is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation hailing from a small town in southeast Kansas. A creative bookworm at heart, Adrianne spent her childhood journeying through the pages of a new book, honing her talents in traditional arts, and building forts in the woods with her siblings and cousins. Building strong tribal nations and communities is the cornerstone of her career.

After discovering her passion for law and policy during an undergraduate internship at the White House, Adrianne joined the legislative team at the National Indian Education Association. There, she engaged with tribal schools and leadership to advance opportunities for Native students through tribal, state, and federal action.

Following the pandemic, Adrianne followed her heart to law school to address systemic legal issues facing Native communities. During law school, she honed her legal skills through the Constitutional Impact Litigation Practicum and Racial Equity in Education Law and Policy Clinic. Outside the classroom, she was an active member of the Native American Law Students Association and worked on tribal health and child welfare law at the National Council of Urban Indian Health and the American Bar Association’s Center on Children and the Law. Adrianne was an editor for the Georgetown Journal of Law and Modern Critical Race Perspectives and worked as a research assistant with the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality.

Adrianne joined Hobbs Straus in 2024. She is dedicated to advancing tribal sovereignty and ensuring access to opportunity in tribal communities. It is an immense privilege to continue serving tribal nations in this role.

Outside the office, Adrianne is learning to bead her own earrings and accessories. She loves to bake delicacies, travel to new destinations, and breathe in fresh air on hikes throughout the area.
