Professional Profile

Andrea M. DenHoed

Associate Attorney

Andrea DenHoed joined the Hobbs Straus DC office as an associate attorney in September, 2026. Before starting her law career, Andrea worked as an editor and journalist for several years, which included serving as the web copy chief at The New Yorker magazine and as the managing editor of NonDoc Media, a nonprofit news outlet in Oklahoma City. Her time in Oklahoma helped spur her interest in issues that touch tribal nations and their people.

Andrea completed her J.D. at Yale Law School. During law school, she served as a student director of the Media Freedom and Information Access Clinic, and she spent her second summer at the ACLU’s State Supreme Court Project. Andrea received her undergraduate degree, in Letters and International Studies, from the University of Oklahoma, and she studied English Literature at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She also holds a master’s degree in journalism from NYU.

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys cooking, gardening, making needle-felted animals, and going for aggravatingly slow walks with her two Chihuahuas.
