Vanessa R. Jackson

Associate Attorney

Vanessa Jackson joined the Portland office in June 2026. She is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and a descendant of the Klamath, Grand Ronde, and Pawnee Tribes. Prior to joining the firm, Vanessa worked as in-house counsel for the Siletz Tribe where she advised on a wide range of issues including healthcare, personnel, tax, and self-governance matters.

Vanessa received her Bachelor of Art in Philosophy in from the University of Oregon in 2019 where she was a recipient of the Cobell Scholarship. As an undergraduate, Vanessa clerked for the Siletz Tribal Court and the Office of the General Counsel at the University of Oregon.

Vanessa graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2022. While in law school she served as a law fellow with the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics. She also clerked for Legal Aid Services of Oregon, where she focused on eviction defense and research for the Native American Program of Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Throughout law school Vanessa was an active member of the National Native American Law Student Association.

In her free time Vanessa enjoys spending time with her two children, trying new restaurants, traveling, and cooking.
