Minority Business Development Agency Solicits Applications from Candidates to Operate a Business Center in Location with Significant AI/AN Populations

The Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is soliciting applications from candidates to operate a new MBDA Business Center in one of the following locations: Bridgeport, CT; Buffalo, NY; Green Bay, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Jackson, MS; or Portland, OR. Applications are due June 22, 2013, and a pre-application teleconference will be held on June 4.

MBDA Business Centers are designed to create jobs for Americans and foster global business expansion by assisting minority-owned businesses with strategic consulting services and by assisting these businesses with obtaining public and private sector contracts and capital investments. Eligible applicants include: tribes; for-profit entities; non-profit organizations; state and local government entities; and educational institutions. The award is a four-year award for Fiscal Years 2013-2016. The MBDA estimates $250,000 will be available each fiscal year.
