Zachary T. Stuart

Associate Attorney

Mr. Stuart, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, joined Hobbs Straus as an associate in October 2017.  His practice areas include litigation, gaming, and tribal governance.

He received his Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.  During law school, he interned with the Indian Country Team at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.  Mr. Stuart worked full time for a semester at the U.S. Department of State in the Office of International Claims and Investment Disputes in Washington, D.C., preparing claims for the Iran–U.S. Claims Tribunal and participating in an international investment arbitration under NAFTA.  While at OU Law, Mr. Stuart was an Appellate Advocacy Brief Prize Winner and Public Service Award recipient.  He also received an Academic Achievement (Am Jur) Award in the area of the First Amendment and was a member of the Oklahoma Law Review.

Mr. Stuart received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in International Business and Finance, from the University of Oklahoma, He spent a semester of his undergraduate studies at Université Blaise Pascal in Vichy, France, as part of its International Business Program.  Mr. Stuart was elected President of his professional business fraternity, and oversaw the organization’s fundraising, community service, and leadership activities.  After graduation he served for a year as an AmeriCorps Member at a non-profit where he met his wife, April.

Mr. Stuart and his wife have two young children.  Together they enjoy trying new foods, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
